I recorded myself singing in the tunnel that connects the buildings on the minnesota state capitol complex. This is the first measure of music in the kyrie mass in g minor, which is usually sang by a chorus in a cathedral environment. The tunnel makes it sound exactly like i'm singing in a church.

This sample was created by taping a razor blade to a contact microphone and allowing the blade to scrape against the edge of a record spinning on a turntable. The reverb was added in real time, so there's not a dry signal recording. Very reminiscent of tg's "hamburger lady" in some ways. Sounds like a human voice almost.

Night storm in evosmo-thessaloniki (part 1) with more than 30 lightning strikes and thunders in a period of 20 minutes. The recording was made by me with the zoom handy recorder h2 (open window of my apartment). Sounds like even the street traffic, car alarm, a horn ship (the port is 6 km far away), human voices, dogs, and inside noise. Making use the adobe audition 3. 0 to edit the file. Enjoy.

I had a need for some burps in a project, and decided to burp loudly into the mic whenever the urge arose while i was narrating. Beer aided the process quite a bit. These were collected over the course of several stories. I've studiously avoided sniffing my pop-filter, for obvious reasons. Mic is a rode procaster. Not that i think it is necessarily the microphone of choice for belching. Feel free to use the sound for whatever purpose you like.

Recorded with my epi sg through the walrus slo pedal on dream setting into the focusrite 2i2 interface and into reaper. The bass was recorded with a squier mini-bass through a behringer bxl1800 amp and into reaper. Did a pitch change on the guitar and no quantizing as i like the 'push/pull' feel of the human tempo. Bowling alley- the thing with recording a bowling alley is that the pins are so far away. When you’re the one bowling, you’re not really listening to all the chatter around you; in fact your brain does its best to cancel it out (it’s called selective listening, google it), and so you really hear the clamoring of the pins as they crash and fall. Microphones don’t have any such ability; they just take in whatever sound waves reach them, and they don’t care either way about the relative loudness of those sound waves. So what happens in a recording like this is that even though it sounds like any ordinary (busy) bowling alley, the pins sound really far away in relation to the human chatter. When i first tested out my zoom h5 i began talking into the mic and then all of a sudden i needed a sneeze. I was about to stop the recording but then thought it would be good to record the sneeze to see how it handled my loudness. Well it coped very well and the recording came out perfect!so, here it is.
